PLAYING HISTORY: I Have played tennis since I was 11yrs old. Won Several Tournaments in New York State and won regional high school sectionals. Went on to play in state sectionals and came in 4th in New York State. Played College Tennis for Westminster College in Pennsylvania, Division 3. Helped the women's team win their Key Stone Conference posting an undefeated season as the No.2 singles player. Held the number one spot the next three years. Still hold the win/loss record at Westminster College and was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Continues to play in local tournaments and leagues. Have attended several National Competitions for leagues over the years.
TRAINING/TEACHING HISTORY: Have taught tennis for 35 years. A USPTA Professional 1 since 1986. I have taught tennis summers at a local country club while I was still in high school and college. Was a PBI Professional from 1982-1984(Oahu, Maui,Texas,Puerto Rico,Virgin Islands.) Oahu/The Ilikai Beach Club. Maui/The Royal Lahaina & Napili Kai Beach Club. Puerto Rico/ Cerromar Beach Club. The Virgin Islands/Caneel Bay St. John. After PBI, I was the Dir. of Tennis at The Maui Surf. Then became the Pro at The Maui Marriott in 1986. I took position at The Wailea Tennis Club in 1986 as a professional then Head Teaching Professional and now Director of Tennis. I keep updated in the latest teaching techniques through being a member of the USPTA and attending their Divisional and National Conventions yearly. Also attend Coaches workshops yearly. Have taken several courses on Junior Competitive Training and Footwork.
ALL TIME FAVORITE PROS: I grew up watching Billy Jean King, Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova,Steffi Graff battling each other. And also watching McEnroe and Bjorn Borg, Wilander, Conners, Agassi. I love how the game has changed since these players came on the scene. Some of these players have natural talent some of them really come from amazing genetic backgrounds. They each brought something to us that has changed the game. Today the game is better for their contributions.
PERSONAL COMMENTS: I believe health is what we all strive for. Tennis is just a part of our healthy lifestyle. It is important to look at your body in three parts. Your spiritual being, your physical being and your emotional being. They all are constantly changing. I like to reach out to every student on all levels. I think that as a teacher that if you can't reach your student through one door, there is always another.
